When I first meet someone, I tend to be quiet, so people might think I'm unfriendly—that's just my resting face! However, once you get to know me, you'll find that I'm easy to work with as long as things are on the right track. I'm somewhat of a perfectionist when it comes to tasks, and I always strive to give my best. One unique thing about me is my ability to balance being hardworking and playful depending on the situation.

I would describe myself as a simple and easy-going person. I'm quite detail-oriented and sometimes a little bit of a perfectionist, especially when I'm doing something I really care about. I also enjoy being creative, trying new things, and spending time with the people close to me. I may seem a little quiet at first, but once I'm comfortable, I can be quite talkative.
SEMAI is a student-founded agriculture venture. We’re building a simple system so smallholder farmers can finally see their real profit.
Farmers grow our food, but who helps their business grow? Flip the switch to see where our thinking begins.
Inconsistent record keeping on busy days leaves no clear picture of the farm.

Before writing a line of code, we visited farms in Kedah and Perlis and sat with experts and growers. Explore the students’ interview excerpts and observations. Research visits are not paying-client relationships.

Many farmers skip high-value crops like chili in monsoon season because the technical knowledge and risk are too much.

Weak signal at the farm is a real barrier. Reliable offline operation and later synchronisation are planned responses; the current demo has browser-local storage only.

Excel records start strong and get abandoned. Recording has to be quick enough for busy days.

Most farmers stay producers because hidden costs go uncalculated, so true profit stays invisible.

User-friendly record functions so recording doesn’t get abandoned on a busy day.
The demo calculates sales minus recorded expenses, including labour and transport. AI-assisted analysis is planned, not implemented.

Offline synchronisation is a planned response to weak farm signal. The current prototype saves sample data in this browser only.

No. Spreadsheets get abandoned. SEMAI keeps records, expenses and sales in one structured place and calculates income minus recorded costs. AI-assisted estimates remain planned.
That’s the goal. Farmers told us signal at the farm is weak, so SEMAI is designed to work offline and sync when a connection returns.
It guides farmers on what to record based on the relevant MyGAP standards, with printable record previews. Official format validation remains planned; the demo does not certify compliance.
