Five accounting students from UUM building the app that helps committees bill households, keep proper accounts and show every resident where the money goes.

01 About us

Five foundersone ledger.

We're five accounting students from Universiti Utara Malaysia, building the tool that lets committees show every resident where the money goes.

It started with a simple question at the dinner table: where does our taman fee actually go? At AEE in BTHO, only 287 of 393 houses pay the RM 60 monthly fee, and more than 30 of those are behind. Committees work hard, but with cash, receipt books and WhatsApp, residents can’t see the books, so fewer of them pay. Because we study accounting, we build the controls in from day one.

01

Listen to committees

Every feature starts with a chairman, treasurer or resident telling us what goes wrong today.

02

Controls built in

Two-person approval, separate funds and an audit trail nobody can edit, because that is what accountants trust.

03

Show every ringgit

Residents see the same balances the committee sees. Trust is what brings the non-payers in.

02 The product

KOMUNITY · Resident app, demo data

Komunity is a community accounting system for guarded taman, Rukun Tetangga and residents’ associations. It bills households, collects fees online, keeps proper accounts and shows every resident where the money goes.

Residents pay, but can’t see the books

Committees collect thousands of ringgit a month with tools that were never built to earn trust. At AEE in BTHO, 287 houses pay RM 60 a month: RM 206,640 a year that residents rarely see accounted for.

Everything runs on WhatsAppBookings, complaints and announcements get lost in one busy group chat.
