✳ TISSA × NOVAC DIGITAL VENTURE INCUBATOR / 2026

Check-in
should be
the easy part.

A guest sees a getaway. An owner sees bookings, cleaning, charges and everything that has to happen before the guest arrives. RAPI brings the important bits together.

01 / THE PROBLEM

The holiday is for guests.
The headache? For owners.

Scattered booking records can become very real problems at the front door. The students’ pitch starts with three everyday failures.

01 / Reservations

Wait, this date was already booked?

Guests arrive expecting a room. Owners face conflicting dates when reservations live in scattered messages and records.

Proposed answer: blocked dates for guests, a shared calendar and booking status for owners.
02 / Housekeeping

The guests are here. Is the room ready?

A guest needs a prepared room. Staff need clear assignments; owners need to know what is still being cleaned or checked.

Proposed answer: task details, staff schedules, notifications and readiness status.
03 / Extra charges

There’s an extra charge?

A guest needs to understand and agree to additional fees. An operator needs an itemised record of what was charged and why.

Proposed answer: guest review and consent, with traceable extra-charge records for owners.
02 / NOTES FROM THE FIELD

They didn’t just
guess the problem.

They went and asked. On 16 October 2026, the team visited Norfa Camp House and spoke with owner Encik Suhairi about day-to-day homestay management.

Student prototype / proposed features
RAPI / Reservations

A stay starts with a clear calendar.

One reservation has two sides. The pitch connects a guest’s date selection with the operator’s view of bookings and room status.

For guests

See unavailable dates before choosing a stay. The guest prototype shows date blocking and a reservation summary.

For owners & staff

See a weekly booking calendar, reservation status and short room-status notifications.

RAPI / Housekeeping

A room is more than a booking.

Readiness depends on people and tasks. The proposed workflow makes cleaning, inspection and staff schedules easier to follow.

For guests

The intended benefit is a room that is ready on arrival. These pitch screens show the owner and staff workflow.

For owners & staff

Review task notifications, inspection details and staff schedules, with clear progress and completion status.

Try the interactive UI preview ↗
RAPI / Extra charges

Make the small print visible.

Extra charges need context on both sides: what a guest is agreeing to, and the record an operator keeps afterwards.

For guests

Review the pre-check-in screen and acknowledge additional charges in the proposed guest flow.

For owners & staff

Keep itemised amounts, reasons and approval status against a reservation.

RAPI / Reports

See beyond the next check-in.

The reporting concept brings booking activity, operational work, income and expenses into a clearer overview.

For guests

Guest reservations and charge records feed the wider operations story; these reports are intended for operators.

For owners & staff

Review operational and financial summaries. Every figure pictured is prototype demonstration data.

05 / THE MARKET & MODEL

Build for more.

For independent homestay owners and small homestay or chalet management businesses. The proposed starting point is Kedah, with a wider Malaysian ambition.

RAPI / proposed focus

The work behind the stay.

Internal operations: reservations, housekeeping, staff tasks and financial records in one approachable workflow for smaller operators.

Booking marketplaces

Finding the next guest.

Distribution and booking platforms connect accommodation with travellers. RAPI’s pitch focuses on the operational work around each stay.

Manual spreadsheets

A familiar starting point.

Flexible records that rely on people to keep dates, tasks and payments coordinated. RAPI aims to make that coordination easier.
